Monday

What should have been an easy ride up a tranquil glen road was made into highland pony hell by Katy refusing to go forward. In fact not only refusing to go forward but insisting on turning round and heading for home. Boy those HPs are stubborn, strong willed and physically strong too. I was exhausted by the time I got to the hill bothy for the night. Yvonne thinks Katy was too hot as it was a warm and humid day, I think she was just bloody minded and wanted to go back to the field to eat grass!! We were cheered up for the night though with arrival of hubby with our kit and a couple of friends (a surprise) with some wine. Nothing better than a real fire in a bothy, with good company and a tipple or two, especially when it was lashing with rain outside. One advantage of highland ponies (possibly the only one) is that they don’t mind the weather and Katy and Skye hardly noticed the rain as they concentrated on removing every blade of grass from the field!

The dreaded Highlands. Mostly what I’ve ridden so that just seems normal πŸ˜›
Hope they improve with the rest of the trip πŸ™‚

You’re tough! Keep it up, I hope it will get better considering the rain – glad you have some hardcore ponies! But it would really spice up the reading if you took some pictures πŸ™‚

Most blog updates are done by text to hubby. No reception for photos and no way to link camera to phone. Be patient the photos will come after the trip!
